The $0.25 question:
What power plants are they running in their NHRA Pro Mods?
I think Mr. Seward got one of them common place alky blown motors based on a Hemi thingy but I could be wrong.
Wasn't Mr. Saitz's UFO S197 running a twin turbo small block?
Thank you. Prize may be found on ground near vending machines.

Isn't it expensive to race an NHRA race?
Seen Jerry Haas was testing Jim Cunningham's S197 shaped Mustang in Pro Stock. Is the engine program that far behind and also is the aerodynamics of the car slowing it down also? Nice shaped car but isn't it a brick compared to the lil Escort as well as the GM and Mopar entries?
Thank you

Not sure of the price to run NHRA Pro Mod but it is not Dan's first time running at the NHRA-St. Louis event. He and his dad have run their twin turbo Probe in there a few years ago.

As for aerodynamics, the Pro Stock spec body (like what Saitz and Cunningham/Haas run) may appear to look like a Mustang but they have been massaged and channelled and made much slicker than the street cars. Those are carbon fiber replica bodies and built to NHRA/IHRA specs with certain overhangs and frontal area. The Escort might or might not be better but don't count out the S197 Mustangs as not being aerodynamic. Look at IHRA competition, Robert Patrick and John Nobile run awesome as do others who switched from Escorts and SN95 style Mustang bodies. At that level if the new cars weren't as aerodynamic then I am sure they wouldn't have switched.

Wow! Mr. Galimi with the sense!
Good to hear from you and your input. That is true about wanting to run a S197 based design to have it within rules to be slicked. I was thinking more so of the car Joel Greathouse was driving and what Steve Petty said about the aero difference between that car and the Shredder cars.
Still got the heads I bought from you trying to decide what valves to go to.
Okee dokee. We don't get much places selling the magazine you are charged with.
Take care and do a good big burnout for us!!!

Mr. Seward runs a supercharged alky motor tuned by Rick Hickman....alcohol tuner par excellence. Rick tuned Mark Thomas to at least 2 IHRA World Championships.
