I recently purchased what is supposed to be a 460. Where do you find the casting # on a BBF block to confirm? The heads have a casting # of c8ae-h. The only numbers I found externally on the block were on the front drivers side.
They were 58,or 68(couldn't tell)
352
Sorry for the long post just can't find casting numbers. Any help would be appreciated.

Casting number for a 460 is on the back lower side part of the block on the starter side. Usually C9VE-B, D1VE-AA, something like that. Chris

Well, not sure what it will run, I never could get a good pass out of my car. It was an 80 Coupe with a 532/powerglide, pretty rowdy. It ran a best 60' of 1.38 on 28x10.50's and a best ET of 11.07 after getting off of it 3 times. Your combo sounds pretty good overall but I'd run at least an 850 carb. Probably capable of a mid-low 11 second pass, maybe better. Best investment would be a set of Trick Flow Street heads which are a bolt on, no mods needed and they flow better stock than your ported iron heads do plus they're lighter. The Stealth is a great intake but if you decide to go with a bigger cam then I'd upgrade to a Victor intake. There's a ton of big block info at www.460ford.com. My new combo is a blown alcohol injected 528 and hope to run low 7's. Good luck with the car! Chris
