I heard that the aftermarket oil pans need more sealant at the transitions from the rails to the end seals. Anybody got more to say?
Anybody had problems running Pro Mustang Oil Pans? My friend bought a motor with one and the k-member needed clearancing. Also is the metal used a thinner gauge compared to the likes of a .............Canton?\
Thank you

I have a Canton on my engine, and the guy that builds a lot of Outlaw engines told me to throw away the black rubber end pieces and just use a fat bead of silicone at the ends. I was worried, but so far so good, it works like a champ! Now I'm gonna knock on some wood ;)

Fel-pro makes a one piece oil pan gasket that is reusable, don't have the p/n on hand, but could get it... works great, I've had my oil pan off several times over the last couple years and I'm still using the same gasket I started with in '99. Just use a dab of RTV silicone at the front and rear corners. I use a Moroso T-sump pan that I modified to accept the pan rail reinforcements off the o.e. pan... and of course the Moroso pan had to be 'massaged' to fit the SVO girdle.
