I recently purchased a motor and I'm in the process of assembling it. It's a 358 SVO with Yates heads with around 15:1 compression. My question is what should the ring gap be? Initially I will run NA but eventually it will get a LARGE shot of juice (500+). I checked the rings that came with it and the top ring was at .032 and the second ring was at .030. This seems way to much but maybe not. I will be running a vacuum pump if that makes a difference. Any advice or info would be great. Thanks

just from my experience if your are going to run a fogger and run a stagger jet low pressure set up..... i run a .032 top ring and a .024 second ring..... i believe you can run the second ring looses like that as long as your pulling alot of vacumn through pump to pull the oil back down ....i run 13 14 inches ...... i would rather have a little leak down on a spray motor than chance butting rings.... hope that is some help....

Thanks guys. I guess I'll put it together and see what happens. Some of the things that came with the motor are new to me (vacuum pump, fogger system, belt drive, etc) so there is going to be a big learning process for me. Thanks again.
