As far as I know because I am doing the same thing only opposite ( new edge car with 302) you will need to get the center section of the k member to match the mod. mounts and use your existing a-arms to keep track right. You will have to get a cam or crank mount dis. or use the MSD Mod6 or I believe there is a guy on here that sells a stand alone spark control for this particular swap. It will also be helpful to switch to manual brakes like the skinny kid big block setup to get some valve cover clearance. As far as the bottom end is concerned if you find a good 4 valve keep the crank and upgrade the rods and pistons you will thank yourself for it later. Keep me posted I like this whole Frankenstang thing.

ok,,thanx for the info,, i have found the sullivan carb intakes that i will use, and i like the 6-mod msd box,, i already have manual breaks, so that good. i found a 03 mach1 93(37k miles) real cheap. things are looking good as far as parts round up...

be careful with the Mach 1 engines. If it was a stick car it came with a steel crank, if it came out of an auto mach 1 it has a cast crank. So id check to make sure you know what your getting. Also if your gonna go with a carb on it I would check out this ignition (they also make a total engine control for EFI).

Best ignition out there and for the setup your trying to do it would be very simple. No need to try and modify a distributor onto a cam wheel that isn't going to be anywhere near as accurate as a high resolution crank trigger. And by high resolution I don't mean 4 flying magnets. I am talking about at least 36 or preferably 58 tooth trigger wheel.

thanx.. this motor had an auto,,and it does have a cast crank...but i should still be able to run a t-45 behind it??? i bought a 6bolt flywheel off a 02 GT. i just have to order a 11'' 02 gt clutch kit, correct...the engine does not have an intake on it, nor wiring harness, thats why im carbing it,,,everyone says msd 6-mod is the only way to go, very simple, effecient. thanx for the tips..

im not going to use a dizzy, the 6-mod plugs into the cam, crank sensors, and into the coils, the rest is nothing more than a power,ground,retard,wire..only 4 wires have to be used this ingnition system

You could also do the dizzy mod in the valve cover.

i got the motor and tranny in.. it was very simple to install the 4v in my fox with a D&D standard 5.0 K-member. i just simply installed a 3/4 inch spacer between the block and the motor mounts. it literally fell in, as did everything else...sooooooo easy! i think i will make a 3/4 plate of the motor mount bolt pattern and sell them.....who wants some????
