Here it is, sports fans: The schedule and payouts for this year's class shootouts. Please note the following changes to the Shootout eligibility process:
In all 2008 Class Shootouts, the top seven NMRA official points finishers will be guaranteed positions in the Shootout. The eighth and final position will be selected by drawing of the number 8, 9 and 10 2007 points finishers prior to the event at a pre-determined location and specified time. There will be a one in three chance for each contestant to fill the final spot at the random drawing. A representative of each race team must be in attendance at the drawing to accept the final position. An "alternate" system will be in place for 2008 shoot-outs as well - if a competitor is unable to compete, their position may be filled with an alternate by instating numbers 9,10, 11, etc. as available. The shootout competitors will be placed on an eight-car sportsman ladder.Competitors wishing to instate themselves and maintain their eligibility for next year's shootouts to be held in 2009 must prominently display the sponsors official logo directly behind the head lights, on each front bumper, on both sides of the vehicle, using the official decal supplied by NMRA.
