Just picked up the latest 5.0 magazine today on the newsstands, and read the flyer for the World Street Challenge. Looks like George G. has decided to return to St. Louis for the inagural event, sad to see the demise of all ford drag racing in this series. Guess he's hoping the car counts will be higher with Fords vs Chevy vs Mopar vs imports...more or less a NOPI style event. Personally, I would have loved to have seen the return of WFC to Bowling Green. Guess we'll have to see who shows up now that it's open to all brands. Have been to all 10 WFC races, but I've still got mixed feelings if I'll even attend this one, just wanted to pass on the news.

I was sad to see it go ,but figured it was nearing the end when I saw the low spectator count at Indy. Seems some of the fields were getting lower and lower. Not a fan of the NOPI style events. I won't be making th 9-10 hr drive to see it. May check out some other events closer to me.

I think it will be a great show, the class rules are basically the same as in the past couple years, just open to all makes. Which will increase the attendance, just look at the #'s from the NMRA vs NMCA superbowls.

I wouldn't worry about a bunch of imports, there aren't that many that fit the rules. Look at the min weights for the outlaw classes, and then consider that a FWD Civic sporting a 2.0L and 76mm turbo doesn't have a chance against Urist and co.

Expext to see NMRA, NMCA, NSCA, FFW, and some cars from the southern outlaw 10.5w series.

I don't think I'll ever go to one of these. I didn't make it to Indy, but each year while they were in St. Louis seemed to get bigger and bigger. I think the low spectator count in Indy was due to the fact that it was farther east, which made an already long trip even longer for the fans that were out west, at least that was the reasoning behind the guys that I knew out west.

The all Ford events are hard to come by nowadays, but look at it this way...NMRA should be bigger and better now!

Bottom line for me I guess is that they've lost my money and time by changing the event.

See you guys in Bowling Green!
