I am a big fan of NMRA and i would like to make a few True Street races this year.... My question is what do you guys think is a competive ET for this class... I know it is hard to say because you never know who is going to show up but if you had to guess on the ET what do you all think? Also does your horn have to work? I just got my car back from the chassis shop and i think i am legal on everthing now but i am not for sure about some things. Thanks Steve....

True street is a Street class, so all DOT or State inspection requirements are supposed to be on the car you know. ;) As for what is competitive hey its true street it has a class for 9 seconds all the way to 15 so take your pick.

Me and some buddies drove our cars around last weeken and my car does great on the street right now...Thanks man.

Yes, still have to do the 30 mile cruise. I drive my car on the street all the time, and its been 8.30's @ 169 on 19lbs of boost at 3570lbs. Gonna try and put it in the 7's this year.
I cant really help you out with your blower question, i run a PT 101 turbo, dont know too much about the blowers... Try posting on the turboforums.net board. There are alot of blower guys on there.

Man that is impressive, especially with the weight man.....Turbo's is just awesome power... Good luck with that, what year of mustang do you have? I just got my car back last nov and we got to take it to the last test n tune at Bowling Green Ky. and because of my chassis (being completly stock no roll bar or anything that would help us hook.) We had to leave the line at idle (900rpm's) couldn't use trans brake. The 9.50's was on the street tune not race tune. The race tune made about 50 more hp.. I got everthing done to it now it should go low to mid 9.30's but still no where near your times... Again thanks for the infor, i will check that out.

Its an 89 notch. Had a full stereo in it last year (2 amps, 10 inch sub, etc) So that added to the weight. None of that is going back in this year, and its getting 25.5'd right now.
Here are a couple of pics... And a video of the car on the street doing a small burnout...lol.

I'm coming for you this year at atco!
Not really...not too much changing overall with my combo although I straightened out some of the bugs from last year and am putting an a/w on it. It should be good for about 165 or so. Still not good enough to beat your car though.

Should be fun! You going to run the NMCA true street at atco too? Gonna be a ton of crazy fast cars! My car is getting 25-5'd, better suspension, minitubbed, taller tire... Hopefully i can get it to hook this time! I peddeled everypass last year...lol. Im hoping to go north of 180mph

I don't know about running the NMCA. I don't own a trailer so I would have to convince one of my friends to get me up there. Atco is not beyond my driving range for the car, but it is a looooong way home if I break. I have a lot of friends who run in the NMRA, so it is much easier to get a trailer ride up there.
Sounds like your car is going to be a monster. Maybe if I don't run in the event, I'll go up and watch.

I run an F1 on the street but I can see by your times your already faster. Mine is a 9.50 car at 3650 pounds roughly but I do run 10.0's on pump gas. I haven't wrung mine out yet because of a fuel issue but this year it will be faster. I can drive anywhere but gas mileage sucks now without the 5 speed.:(

Hey guys, It seems like there will be alot of fast true street guys this year.... It looks like there will be alot of low 9's and high 8's... I know we are steping my car up, going from procharger to vortech ysi a/a.... and a couple of other things.... the little D-1 would only make 16lbs of boost with the set up i have know, hope to make 25lbs of boost.... Good luck... blown333 i would say as long as you have ins, lic, reg, and you car passes safty and teck I would think you should be fine, but someone eles like wazslow could answer your question better then me.... Good luck

let me tell you ,true street these days are a lot different then the old days ,i spent all yearbuilding my car by the time i was done and ready to leave my wife was about to kill me for lack of time with her,so caring that i am i jumped in truck and wanted to go to florida and show off my new ride and the stickers that gave me parts for my car .it costed me over $600 in gas one way plus food and hotel half way down .met some cool people in true street but met more people that didnt like me because my car looked fast i guess .anyway go on cruise made my 3 passes and won .it was a great feeling to be back from the dead .i brought 5 guys to watch that helped me with build of car .i won $250 and a trophy .it was great down there .
but part two "reality"
i get home it costed me well over $3000 for race gas hotels food ,cheetahs ,my tow ride exploded a rear ,my wife isnt talking to me cause multiple reasons ,i gave calls to companys that gave me a hand with discounts on parts to tell good news that i won ,well they called me back and said they cany find anything on nmra .we enter this class for a little exposure and fun .
i guess there are no winner circle pics for this class or photos online of winner ,i have a trophy with no tag on it where its from and what its for , a hand shake photo,ia photo copy post of the racers placements ,and a bunch of guys in my class that wish i never showed ,i wish the hooter party was on sat night i would have rather brought the car there and did some burnouts and drinkin some beers afterward.i def wish i built something different now

lol ,its all tapped out ,i just want to work the bikini contest ,but i know there are a lot of faster cars still to come out and play ,there were fast cars down in florida they just didnt put down the number ,a twin turbo car capable of 8.70s and convertible a low 9 sec turbo car missed tour ,another gorgeous newer body car next to me runnin 10.0 capable of mid 9s.
i see true street a class to keep everybody from street racing ,its not about money its about bragging rights and when i got home with empty pockets from fuel and hotels the only thing else than winning would have been and identification on this site that i actually won ,when hoosier was happy to hear that i went 1.27 and 1.28 60fts they went on site to see that i won and nobody was home ,and i know all the magazine guys got shots and they are great guys all of them but this class was forgot about on the net afterward

i cut a 1.42 on motor at 9.79 at 139.21 on 93 octane on motor.i have gone alittle better than that in et before
my old motor i had the nos on it and when i built this motor i lent the nos to my nephew,i have the kit still but not on the car,the fuel one is still on the car thats it.
i dont even own a trailer,i drive it to and from the track, when i run at speed world 30to 40 miles one way.
do you have a fogger on your motor, and wht was in it for motor

looks good ,i run a speedtech nitrous plate on top of 377cu. 351 9.2deck ,tfs highport heads done by ed curtis which was the god of the motor with also the cam pick ,auston ported the intake which was also a awesome job if anybody needs intakes ported he used to be one of kuntz key guys ,12.1 pistons which when i blow up i will put 11.1 cause i also want to run street gas ,also i will be going back to rubber mounts due to the excessive vibrations throughout car ,i wanted a more street car drive ,dynamics c4 trans which worked awesome and is way more exciting than a glide and then i tried a ptc converter that was another one of my best finds they are great for getting it done on 1st try,i have engine picks on my chassis guys web cause i cant ever download a pick so if you want to see my engine bay its on

on the ticket i wrote it was on motor on 93 octane but they didnt announce it.
trz asked me about it,and i said id run it,wasnt ready to try and go faster so i left it on motor
i dont know how it will run on the nos but it should like it,cams on a 112 sep,my exhaust flow 265 and 2 inch headers,i run tea 245 highports.
i had dart 225s and ran about the same and they flowed 30 cfm less.
the 139 was my best mile an hour but not et the darts went 9.77 at 138
i lost alittle 1/8 mile an hour with the new heads, probably need converter and gear.
im on www.dartheads.com on racer gallery page 2
they announce me at speedworld in orlando alot, thats my first time at bradenton, lol
ill have to check your picks out, your car looked real nice

Truestreet / Wildstreet is definitely just a bragging rights class. You don't win enough to cover your gas and/or entry fees.
Racepages does typically have a nice spread about the class and you will usually see coverage of the class in other mustang magazines. It typically can be fun to enter and you can meet some really great people.
I'm way outclassed at Atco this year.

$1200 in gas round trip just for tow vehicle ,maybe georgia we set up a saturday night underground run for a couple bucks

Yes, it is still a blow thru CSU carb. So far so good. My car just got minitubbed over this winter. Last year no minitubs and it didnt even have adjustable shocks or struts on it. It had two amps, 10 inch sub...etc. It was heavy too though at almost 3600 with me(175) in it. Car should be lighter this year, and make more power.

I do run drag radial stuff. I dont run the BFG's so i couldnt run the NMRA drag radial class anyway. My car see's plenty of street time, not just for a true street race. I dont care at all about the $250. Everyone know's thats a joke. Its about the bragging rights and having a good time with a great bunch of guys, thats all.

Well, you could always enter Open Comp, which pays $600 to win/$300 for the runner up and has more than 150 different parts eligible for contingency payout of $150 to win and $75 to runner-up per part. Of course, there you have three rounds of qualifying, plus it typically takes four round wins to get to the finals, so it's more wear and tear on the car, and you run the risk of being eliminated.
Mod Muscle pays the same in contingency, and the purse is $1000/$500. Plus, it's generally a round or so shorter due to lower turnout in that class. Obviously, not an option for pushrod cars, but still...
Also keep in mind that True Streeters get free entry into Sunday's brackets, which pay $1000 to win in B1 and B2, and $300 for B3.

Thanks for the props, stance gonna be all different with the minitub though well see how it sits this yr with more rubber under there :D - first time out last yr at atco nmra was a traction limited 9.6@149, had to turn down the boost and use a 8 rib serp setup to get a best of 1.3 60ft + 9.2@151 later the season but am shooting for an 8 sec av. @ 160 or so mph this yr. Hopefully in the hot humid south jersey air it will be enough for a top 5 finish. :)

whats up guys..... Question My tuner Mike Post is doing another up grade on my car... Going from 16 lbs of boost with a D-1 procharger a/a to a YSI 25 lbs of boost a/a or maybe a little more boost, and changing from a c-4 to a TH 400 with all the good stuff, and changing the fuel pump and some other little things.. Any way we went 9.50's @ 143 This is a street car that i plan on racing in T/S... Its tune by a PMS....Now what do you guys think it will run at its best.... Wanting to break into the 8's....Thanks for your comments....
