Does the NMRA tech. dept. have bare cyl. heads for comparison to check for illegal port altering or other methods,ie cc'ing ports or using temlpates. And too what extent do they check. Do they just look at the runners with valves out and if it looks stock your good to go. Any feed back would be great Thanks.

Each manufacture sends us an original part to inspect. We use these bench marks for our assesments of what has or has not been done to each part. Same with intakes and other parts that are specific to each class.

So there is a cast iron GT 40 and an E7TE standing by for reference.

Sure thing, the only thing they'll find is 1990 forged 4 relief pistons with 160,000 plus miles on them with bigger valve reliefs I made with the good ol isky notchers.:)

That would make an funny photo! (Well, for everyone except the Factory Stock racers.) A line of 10 guys, each holding a head: "Here's my fuel sample, and my driver's side head."

My question is, seeing that my first race as a racer will be Reynolds Ga how much "tech" will I have to go through when I get there friday? Will I be tore down in tech or after I run? I am bringing a plastic fork to a gun fight so just wondering what all to expect when I get there. I dropped the heads off at the machine shop yesterday, ordered a cam today and ordering a converter this weekend. I'm looking forward to racing with you guys finally after 8 years of watching. O yea what about window tint will i need to remove it? Seen that in the rules and was wondering how picky they are about tinted windows. Thanks for any and all help you can give me. Seya in Reynolds

A person only gets torn down if somebody protest them. Or, if they set a record by a ridiculous amount. Yes, they will ask you to remove the window tint, so the track officials/EMT can see you. Everybody has to go through tech: checking for safety equipment, loose ballast, correct lug nuts, battery securely fastened, stuff like that...

Thanks, I know the safety equip. and all that stuff just need to know wheather I need to bring the tool box. Thanks for the info. I work at a track but we don't do any tech inspection for bracket racing. If we did half of them wouldn't race.:D

make sure you have open lugnuts front and rear.... It's a pain trying to install longer studs at the event.

Yea put my new axles in last weekend with new studs, got to get the front done now. I'll be wore out by the time the race gets here, working 6-7 days a week at my regular job, work at the track on the weekends and on the car and motorhome during the week when I get off, so i'm gonna need some sleep when I get there. But hopefully not at the tree :D. Going out that way now to work on it some tonight. Got to get the tint off the windows, so I better get started. Thanks guys for any and all advise. Seya there.
