Last year mine made 330 @ the wheels and the car would run 11.80s to 11.90s at 114mph.Thats with mid 1.6 60fts and stock bottom end stock pistons notched by myself for the bigger cam.The weather was hot about 90 and humid.The same combo at Bradenton this year was running 11.80s @ 116 with 1.80 60 fts. Really good air,and me screwing with the suspension hence the poor 60 ft..Found the susp. gremlin and xterminated it.

My old combo back in 2004 made 287hp/347tq to the rear wheels with E7's, Bassani 1 3/4 shorties and stock Ford cam. Now they allow 1 5/8 long tubes and wild duration cams. Car weighed 2950 with me in it and the weight for the E7's is still the same as back then. Ran a best ET of a 12.04 in Fla. and best speed of 113 in Columbus. Still don't know why it never ran an 11. Had 1.54 60fts but couldn't get that first 11 second pass for an E7 head. LOL
Rick, you want to come notch my pistons so I can throw these heads on and play? LOL Wait, M/T's still aren't legal. Darn!

Sure I'll notch your pistons,but if they are of the old rules light weight flat top variety there might not be enough crown thickness and you'll likely ventilate the bottom end, and then they wouldnt be any good for even ash trays.On the 11s issue , what was your 1/8 mile speed and gearing.I had some out of whack 1/8 to 1/4 speeds which I traced to my fuel tune.It would mph on the top end but not in the 1/8 and once I started closing in on the tune the 1/8 mph started coming up with alittle loss in top end mph,but still needed some fine tuning.

Rick,
That was back in 2004. I have no idea where the time slips are. I'm sure I saved the 12.04 from Fla. as no E7 had run that quick up to that point. Just lost track of it.
As far as the piston notching, it's a totally stock motor. Tried to get a baseline ET but broke a pro-shifted trans on my first pass. Just got it back from Bob Hanlon and now it has headers. So I doubt we would ventilate these stockers. Unless my sneaky pete malfunctions. ;)
I was kidding anyways. I can hardly afford to go bracket racing with everything going up. Luckily my mortgage payment stays the same. LOL

2v = 400+
4v = 400+
GT40 = 400+
E7's = 300 hp :D
So 250lbs on the 2v
250lbs on the 4v
200lbs on the GT40s
Deduct 100lbs for the E7's
That would be fair. ;)

If I remember right I think it was 339trq. I dont have the dyno sheet with me here at work,and the hp peak was at 5700 and the power curve was virtually flat from 5100 to 6400 only dropping about 10 to 15 hp at both ends.As youve probably figured out it has a good size cam and granted not with a race bottom end this was with bone stock 90 5.0 that I notched the pistons on. All this top secret crap about HP is BS , who the hell cares unless your hiding something and and dont wont a rules change,everyones who has been doing this for any time knows what it takes HP wise ,but when an outsider asks a simple question and gets a bunch of smart ass remarks no wonder the class counts are down I wouldnt want to race with you certain people, but I could give a rats ass thats why I still do.My 2 cents.I hope I havent hurt anyones feelings, Peace. This wasnt directed to you Jonathan, I just got side tracked.

Anybody that comes into one of these forums asking specific questions with the name "BAD INT" or bad intentions aught to expect a bit of reservation in the answers they get. If someone really wants to know horsepower #'s there are several good calculators. Check out Ken's on modulardepot.com. One of the more accurate ones I've come across. Dyno #'s are irrelevant anyway in comparing combo's, which we all do, because nobody is running thier different cars on the same dyno under the same conditions. I'd be willing to bet that if Ken posted Steve's peak dyno #'s nobody would believe him anyway.

I'm not assuming this is directed at anyone in particular but the reason things are kept secret are this is heads up, not bracket racing. Everyone spends thousands of dollars to be on the top and compete at the highest level. Time/money in testing, time away from their families etc. Just to be the best and win. We all know dyno #'s don't me squat, that's why we play with questions like this. Fine I made 350rwhp on the dyno before MI. How's that.

Ian is right, no one will believe us. But we made less than Tommy before MI. Not saying I don't want to make more, but everyone thinks we are blowing the class away with HP and we are not. I've been fortunate enough to have tuned somewhere in the neighboorhood of 20 FS event winning cars over the last few years between Steve and Shawn. And I obviously know what Jeff was making last year (unless he changed something on the car before he dropped it off) since we now have the car.
Like it was said, dyno numbers don't mean squat because all dynos are different. You can compare Dynojet numbers since those are always close but once you add in Mustang Dyno and Dyno Dynamics, who knows how they translate across brands.

I just dont see the deal with telling someone looking at the class the HP level , they are the ones that will have to do the work to get there, is everyone in here that insecure,and with the testing Ive done and checking Power/speed calculators their pretty close.And furthermore we represent this class and the NMRA and acting like a dick when someone asks a question isnt professional even in an amatuer racing series.Also by the way just my opinion.Peace.

Well if you don't call missing the first three finals 'fading', then I guess you're not fading. I don't have any rings and I've never raced a full season with a worked out car. But don't worry, I'll be back soon for one. I guess the answer to the other question would be 2. Both Shawn. But I'm only getting started.
Cool good luck. So you did Shawn complete car? :confused:

No, why? You asked how many in our camp had rings. You may not know it but we did more than tune Shawn's car. He built most of it himself but we do work on it.
