I'm out of Dallas and thinking about building my car into a P/S car. After reading the rules and some some layouts on other P/S race cars. I still have some common questions. Is anyone running the carb setup? How many RPM's are you twisting these little motors? What gears? What kinda 1/8th mile times?
Thanks

I appreciate the response Gene, I just need to do alot R&D to come up with an affordable combo. Hopefully I can give it a shot when you guys come to Dallas. Johnny

you might want to give the guys at anderson ford motorsport a call. they will be able to help you out bigtime. they have alot of experience with this class, and factory stock too so give them a call!!!

RPMs are usually just north of 7grand. Most seem to run 4.30s or 4.56s

Thats what I figured. I'm going to through a junk motor together, experiment with camshafts and suspension W/430 gears for now. I'm going to keep it carburated for now and maybe FI in the future. Does anyone know how long a pro auburn with 31 spline moser axles will live?
Thanks

I would go with 33 spline and a spool personally. I havent seen many Auburns last. Since you are going to run a carb'd set up, you will be harder on them with the 3,275 + lbs. needed to be legal.

I agree, My 89' hatch used to be a nos street/strip car. I already have the axle and auburn in the car. I plan on running that setup until it brakes. Im just trying to get into something different. LS1 cars around here, brag about there amazing 11.60's straight motor when the mustangs have to have power adders to run those kinda #'s. I just want to prove little ford motors can do even better.

I would sell the Auburn and get a spool as Brian said. They are cheap and at least 20lbs lighter than that Auburn unit. Think recipricating weight, less is better!
