im planning on coming down getting the car ready now but i just read over the rules and i cant run my hoosier 28x9 slicks? this puts me in a jam cause i just bought them and used them once thinking i was good for the show. i guess i was wrong but i thought you can use street tires on the drive then allowed to swap tires when you get back. let me know what to do plus a while back i signed up on here for a #557 for this race just wanted to see if that was still the plan. thanks dave

The tire rule has always been the same DOT only for the cruise and race sorry. Go over to www.nmcadigital.com and there is a sticky thread in the true street section about numbers.

hey jeff what day do you have to be at the track and tech in to be able to race. and also do we get testing and then race day or how does that work what is the true street schedule? thanks dave

You can come to the track on Friday or Saturday but if you come in on Saturday make sure you come early so you can get teched in. Saturday schedule (subject to change) meeting at noon go out on the cruise at 1:00pm . there is not a set time for true street testing but most guys test during bracket time trials.

question on a turbo car....can a turbo car run open down pipe with dump in the class? says cars need mufflers but i know when i went to e-town and epping last year and they said the turbo acts as the cars muffler and it is ok to run it open. just want to check before it is too late. thanks

Id like to know about this also....and the rule book doesnt say anything about wipers either?But I hate to show up and then they be required...I dont even have the motor in there anymore.

Rule book doesnt state it....Thats what rain X is for.

how about the open down pipe on a turbo? and front tires? i have the m/t 25-4.5s that are new do i really need to go buy new front tires along with the rear? also im trying to find out the plan for sat. if i can def get testing in the morning when i get down there or how it will work. please let me know if anyone knows i tried to call jeff a few times no answer. thanks dave

the tires do HAVE to be DOT tires on all 4 corners, throw on some cheapie 165 r15's, muffler is required also dont know if they accept the turbo argument, never seen it come up yet. Wazslow is a turbo car and has run the event you might want to ask him. i would try and go friday if you need some test passes but you should* be able to get at least 1 pass on sat. i think >>

My car has full exhaust on it. The 5 inch downpipe splits into dual 3.5's and they each go into a magnaflow muffler. So i am not sure if they will allow the turbo only deal. Definatly need dot's on all 4 corners though. I had to mount a new set of tires 2 years ago on the front at NMCA at Maple grove, because they wouldnt allow the e.t. fronts.

got back from atco this weekend and had a good time running in true street for the first time. everyone from the nmra was nice and i thought it was a well ran show. to bad for my first time on drag radials i couldn't hook but i almost pulled out the 11.0 class win but missed it by a hair. winner was a 11.005 and mine was 11.04 oh well thats racing.
