I would like everyones opinion on how to set up my car...
Im doing a budget drag car...nothing like thats on here....and it will be drag only.

the engine will be a forged 408 assebly with 0.040 pistons
the heads will be pro-comp 210cc heads with 2.02/1.60 and .650 lift springs
I have a roller 97 351w block....

I have a XE282HR right now but I want to setup car up right the first time...I cant afford theses kind of parts as trial an error.....
Should I go solid roller? what lifters? what would be some good rockers to go with? 7/16 also?
Or comp has a Stroker cam thats .608/.608 lift hyd.

I have a vacuum caniser just in case....I will be running carb also...prob proform 850 or bigger if needed....

let me know what you guys think

With the ProComp heads, you will probably find SBC rockers fit better than SBF ones. Scorpion makes a reasonably priced rocker of good quality. Use a 7/16 stud over 3/8 any day.

Those heads need opened up at the push rod pinch, some clean up under the intake valve in the bowl area and the intake valve unshrouded at a minimum.

Budget and solid roller don't really fit in the same sentence.
You already have a hyd roller block and hyd roller cam.($0.00 ) What is the goal for the car?
