LISTEN I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR INTENTION R BUT THIS IS HOW IT GOES. YOU RUN RENEGADE IF YOU WANT TO POLL FOR SOMETHING.. POLL FOR DFI FEL-PRO, F.A.S.T TFS STREET HEAT HEADS , VICTOR SR TW-R IN RENEGADE..... OUR CLASS DOESN'T NEED A HEAD CHANGE TO TRY TO COMPLICATE OR MAKE MATTERS WORSE THAN WHAT THEY R.. WHAT THIS CLASS NEEDS IS A SUPERCHARGER ADJUSTMENT.. WHICH I HAVE FOUGHT FOR SINCE THE BEGINNING..
SEE YOUR BUILDING YOUR CAR FOR X-TREME STREET AND SEE DRAG RADIAL AS YOUR SECOND ALTERNATIVE...WHICH MEANS YOU HAVE NO MORE INTEREST IN THIS CLASS THEN YOU DID PRIOR TO WATCHING US RACE AT ATCO... WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? WE'VE BEEN RACING FOR 4 YEARS NOW... DON'T SAY DRIVING EVEN, BECAUSE JIMMY DRIVES YOUR CAR....YOU SEE WHERE A TIGHT NITTED GROUP, WE'VE FOUGHT HARD TO GET WHERE WE NOW R... AND DON'T NEED DRAMA AT THIS POINT. YOU'LL GET A FEW YES VOTES AND THAT WILL COME FROM NOS GUYS AND KEYBOARD PUSHERS, OR PEOPLE WHO DON'T WANT TO WORK HARD FOR A VICTORY, BUT HAVE ONE GIVEN TO THEM....
LOOK U WANT TO RUN X-TREME STREET BUILD YOUR CAR FOR THAT. IF YOU WANT TO RUN DR BUILD YOUR CAR FOR THAT. BECAUSE IF YOU BUILD IT FOR DR YOU CAN RUN BOTH..
DRAG RADIAL ALLOWS WELDING, EPOXY, RAISE EXHAUST PORTS NO LIMIT ON VALVE SIZE,, COGS,SOLID ROLLERS, NO LIMIT ON HEADER SIZE, MANUAL TRANS,, SO IF YOU WANT TO RACE IN THE CLASS, OR ME AS YOU SAID BUILD YOUR CAR FOR THE CLASS AND I'LL SEE YOU IN BOWLING GREEN, E-TOWN, ORLANDO WHERE YOUR HEADS WILL BE LEGAL, OR FLORIDA THE START OF NEXT SEASON.

I agree with the Big Daddy ....we dont need these heads in this class .....bottom line .....it would only complicate things.
only rule changes should be in favor of the blower cars.

No thanks. How about letting the guys who run the class decide on what rules need changing.

Its seeming that everyone is of the same opinion on these heads, uhhhhh, NOPE. Dont need em, dont want em. The rules may need a little help for the blower guys but thats it

I had no intention of getting everyone upset about this whole deal. I just posed a question. I kind of take offense at the pot shots though. If you guys don't want the change, then don't make a change. If I was a rules maker, then I could understand you being upset. Instead, Im just a guy building a car that posed a question. I even sent you a private email that you didnt respond to. In that email I asked for your support and also said that If you don't support it, I wont pursue it. Needless to say, if the guys running the class don't want the rules to change, then it wont be changed. You can't fault me for asking a simple question though.
As for Jimmy driving the car, I take offense to that comment. I had some personal issues to deal with that precluded me from going to every event. I love racing so much that I "GAVE" my car to Jimmy for the year so that I could see it run and take pride in all the hard work that I have put into it. I think we agree on everything about racing, tuning, driving, and all the stuff about hard work.
I know you are a tight knit group, and I admire it and was hoping to be a part of it. I guess I didnt expect this kind of response from the leader.
I wont pursue the head issue anymore. I hope at some point it will be forgotten about. I had not ill intentions.

HEY MIKE
THE REASON I DIDN'T ANSWER YOUR E-MAIL POST TO YOUR QUESTION WAS THAT I HAD ALREADY REPLIED TO YOUR POST ABOUT THE HEADS IN DRAG RADIAL. SO AFTER I REPLIED TO THAT POST I REALLY COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT YOUR INTENTION WAS AT THAT POINT. I ALREADY HAD GAVE MY FEELINGS ON THE HEAD SITUATION, AND THEN THE POLL POST SHOWED UP.
AS FOR JIMMY AND YOUR CAR COMMENT IT WAS SAID, NOT TO OFFEND YOU OR Y DON'T YOU DRIVE YOUR OWN CAR. I JUST ASKED THE QUESTION ON WHAT WERE YOU DOING FOR THE LAST 4 YEARS OF OUR EXSISTENCE... THIS HEAD ISSUE HAS BEEN A SORE SUBJECT IN THIS CLASS FROM THE BEGINNING AND WAS FINALLY PUT TO REST... THAN OUT OF NOWHERE IT RESURFACED AGAIN.. AS AN ENGINE BUILDER I KNOW THAT THE HEADS WILL PLAY A LARGER FACTOR IN THE NA NOS CARS MORE THAN THE SUPERCHARGERS OR TURBO'S... I'VE SEEN PEOPLE MAKE LOTS OF HORSEPOWER WITH THE HEADS THAT R CURRENTLY IN THE CLASS, NOW THE RACERS IN THE CLASS NEED MAKE THAT HORSEPOWER..
SO LISTEN NO PUN INTENDED..EITHER

Kind of off the subject but.... What head would you recommend on a 355 ci. 9.5 deck motor with a blower? Currently I am leaning towards the new Street Heats. Looking to have a car for DR next year but hate buying parts twice. Thanks for the input.

I know where you could get a set of used Street Heats(only a few passes). They went 7.87 first time out on an SSO car. Complete with rockers and pushrods.

bd,
First of all I just want to say that I love the DR class. The first time I witnessed the class was at the first event in florida and I was grinning from ear to ear watching. I was pitted directly next to you with my friends f/s black coupe. Unfortunately I had just gotten done building my car with tfs-r heads. My car is a 351w with nitrous. Since I noticed the class, I have considered changing heads so I can join the class but I have so much money invested in my heads/headers that its just not possible for me. Are the tfs high-ports legal?
Anyway, I am dissapointed that I will be going to bowling green without my car because it has the wrong heads. Any chance that tfs-r head users could just add weight? I would run on horsepower in bg and be non-competitive if you'd let me slide on the heads.....just so I could run in the class.

THE DR CLASS ALLOWS MANY MODIFACTIONS IN THE CLASS TO HEADS. ALLOWING TFS-R AND VICTOR SR HEADS IN THIS CLASS IS NOT THE ANSWER. I'M LOOKING AT IT FOM THE GROWTH OF THE CLASS NOT FOR THE FEW THAT ONLY R CONCERN ABOUT THEIR OWN COMBINATIONS. I'M WILLING TO BET THAT THE MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE IN THE CLASS HEADS R NOT EVEN MAXED OUT. IF THE RULES SAID THEY WE WERE LIMITED TO PORTING WE'ED CRY THAT THERE SO BE NO LIMIT ON PORTING..
BESIDES TURBO'S RUN OFF EXHAUST AND UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES YOUR NOT GOING TO GET THESE HEADS TO FLOW IN THE 275CFM RANGE DON'T YOU THINK THAT I CAN GO FASTER MYSELF.. ..THE CLASS NEEDS A LITTLE TWEAKING, AND THAT'S ON THE SUPERCHARGER SIDE..THE CLASS WILL CONTINUE TO GROW...

BD,
I know this is a touchy topic for you so this is the last questions i'll ask.
There are other weight adders to the class such as intercoolers and trans, why not just add weight to a car that chooses to run the "r" head?
Are tfs hi-port heads legal in the class?

YES THE TFS STREET HEAT HEADS R LEGAL. THE BIGGER HEADS WILL BENEFIT THE NA NOS CARS MORE THAN THE SUPERCHARGER AND TURBO CARS..THE LEVEL OF POWER ADDER WE USE MAKES THOSE HEADS USELESS.
IF YOU GUYS WANT TFS-R HEADS I HAVE AN IDEA.
91MM ADD 150LBS
X-XX-TRIM ADD 150LBS
F2R ADD 150LBS
TFS-R HEADS ADD 100LBS
NOVI 3000 ADD 200LBS
SO WHAT DO U THINK, LET THE CLASS GO THIS DIRECTION.. NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.....
