Im running a pro billet msd with my xfi. Ive been runnig it for 2yrs. now but Ive been looking at that dual sync myself just because they are more acurate than a crank trigger. With the trigger ya gotta shim your blower out or pay to have the balancer lathed plus ya still got to buy another distributor. It's kind of a no brainer to me if it works as good as they say.

Well i was thinking the same thing>.Every one seems to say the crank trigger is better above 6500rpm.. I not to sure but its a lot of work to put one on,I have talked to a few blower guys with the dual sync and they spin them 7500 plus and havent had any problems..

I cant remember if I read it or someone told me but the dual sync is supposed to be more accurate. Ive actualy had problems with my pro billet. The first one would break up or the ignition would past 6500. The second one worked great for about 6 month's and then one day quit working. The car would not fire. I changed the ignition module on the first one and it's been doing ok so far but that's why Im looking at buying the dual sync.

Well I just bought bs3 that was what I think will work best for me. Also I bought the msd 8584 dizzy. Since I am not doing individual cylinder timing I don't have to use the crank trigger setup.

It all depends which crank trigger you are talking about? A 4 flying magnet trigger isn't accurate worth crap, how can it be when its only referencing the crankshaft every 90 degree's of rotation. Under fast acceleration its always playing catch up. Thats why most people have to run locked timing to get them to be any bit accurate. Now if you are using a 60-2 that is referencing the crankshaft every 6 degrees, thats a totally different story. That will be far more accurate then any distributor. The accuracy will also be dependent on which ignition system you are using and what it does with the signal coming in. Some ECU/ignition boxes say they can use 60-2 but do so by downgrading the resolution and dividing the 60-2 number to a smaller reference number. So Im sure you all know or can see the added value to having a super accurate ignition event. If it were my car id want a system that can utilize the highest resolution out there or a system that can take that and interpolate that signal to even higher resolution.

XFI™ FORD 302 & FORD 351 DUAL SYNC DISTRIBUTOR (.PDF) Im not sure but from what Im reading it says if you install the dual sync at the 50* referance it reads cam signal and crank signal. Also I think what they are saying is it read's the crank signal 8 times per revolotion and the cam signal 1 time. Not to mention you can use the individual cylinder control but Im not sure that any of this would be an advantage over the trigger you are talking about. It just seems to be more user friendly for dummies like me. I deffinately dont want to shim my blower out and start throwing belts and pulling my balancer, installing it is a major job. Also if I install the trigger Ive still got to buy another distributor to make it work. So I think Im gonna try the dual sync and see what happens.
