I understand that ET Fronts and similar tires are not permitted for True Street, so what does everyone run? The idea of some metric or "S" rated tire on a low 9 second pass is not real appealing to me.

I can check what we have on our car for sure but I believe it is a M/T Sportsman--it is a 4 1/2" skinny type DOT tire.

Are front tires allowed to be changed after the cruise, and before the passes? I.E. have a DOT approved front tire, and change over to an ET front runner for the passes.

I have to agree, I don't like the idea of going 180+ on anything but a drag approved tire. I know the rules are rules for a street legal car, but I think my safety warrants the question and concerns.

Thanks for the info.....

Mark

MT makes a DOT front runner for those speeds check out the link that Jason put up. We have several guys running in TS over on the NMCA side running over 180mph with the MT's. Sorry no tire changing permitted after the cruise is completed. NO RACE FRONT RUNNERS PERMITTED.

What do their cars weigh?? I would just feel a little uncomfortable with me having over 2000 lbs on the front end..

Im using the 26X6 sportsman S/R's on the front been 151mph with em @ 3400 #'s same set been on 2+yrs now and I have no complaints or issues. Another customer of mine runs NMCA T/S with them on the front of his 3500# camaro hes been 165mph on them and will be going for 7's this yr with them so I would be pretty confident in their usage for your ride. See ya next year and be safe!
