On cold start up, this 90 LX my friend has, has trouble idling-like either not enough fuel or not enough air.

Car is stock w/ 5 spd.
I am thinking maybe the IAC valve is not getting a signal. We benched tested it ad the solenoid works. Is it open when no voltage is supplied to it?

Maybe the gasoline is getting old-been sitting a few months.
Once car is warmed up, it can hold an idle.

Thank you.

did you try cleaning the iac with carb cleaner?if not i would try that before anything it may be carboned up causing the pintle to stick,it needs to move back and forth with air flow
