I'm wondering if it's worth it for me to have an exhaust built for my Cobra Jet for this class. Putting a DR on the car isn't a big deal, but having an exhaust is expensive.

Input? Just wondering what you guys think

Well......it is NOT licensed, NOT inspected, does NOT have a VIN number, NOT a street car, does NOT have an exhaust system........

I'd have to say Mod Muscle class would be the place for the Cobra Jet cars.

Other than the exhaust system it fits the class. I'm not talking about True Street. I was just wondering if the class has alot of racers

Your car would be a nice addition to the class! I think the Bowling Green race had 22 cars. Thanks, Larry Russell Jr.

I don't think it would be a problem to run the CJ, I think It would be fun to run against one in this class.

If you got a collector muffler to tone it down and switch to drag radials we'd love to have you in the class!! the only reason we request the collector mufflers to tone the sound down so you dont scare the pants off the guy in the lane next to you!! It is very difficult as a street car to listen to your RPM's when you got a car that sounds like yours next to it!

This is a factory built car and we are trying to draw cars like this into the class!!

Compared to what you paid for the car, I don't think the exhaust is going to be expensive....Doesn't it already have full length headers? Just mate an X/H-pipe to it, then have some mufflers installed with turndowns....I'd say no more than $500...Or do what some PS racers do; about two feet of 2.5 tubing (3" for the CJ) off each collector and then the muffler w/turndowns...DONE!!!

It would be cool to see the car running in a NMRA class!!!

So I've decided to Super Stang is the class. My exhaust will be done next week. A H-pipe, bullet mufflers and turn downs.

My other questions is tires. I will be running an ET Street, which has a true DOT rating. Does anyone know if this tire is going to be a problem? I read the rules and is says DOT which the ET Street is.

I can't wait to hit the track @ Milan.

Yes, but it doesn't say it's prohibited in the class. I just don't want any surprises on race day.

RACING AIDS
Delay boxes, cross-over boxes, or any “reaction-time related” electronic bracket racing aids prohibited in this class. Throttle stops, Stutter boxes, and all related throttle-stop type accessories and trans brakes are prohibited; this is a foot brake only class. Controller devises for nitrous systems only, are permitted.

ET Streets have been approved for the class, as long as its a DOT tire.

Electronics are prohibited. The CJ that raced in ATCO had a trans brake installed as he switched to an Auto and he was just not allowed to use it.

Looking forward to seeing you in Milan! If you have any questions call us direct at 732-780-0770 and ill find out for you asap!

He was going 9.8's-9.9's@ 136-138. He has an extensive amount suspension weight reductions made. We also tuned the car up for him over the winter and it put out some very stout numbers!

here is some video on his car...

Im really not all that sure to be honest, ill talk to him for you and ask. The guy whos builds and drives the car is Eric Bollman from Christiana Restoration. He has some info on the car on his webpage, he's a really nice guy too you may want to call him even...

Everything I do to the car must be bolt on. If I ever stop racing the car I don't want it to lose value from the mods.

Will there be some "shiney spots" on that drive shaft after some passes?
