I have a 79 351w block so 2 pc rear main seal...

Most 408 cranks say 1 pc only?

are they really 1 pc only or universal...

It's a Ford, it doesn't make any difference. Ford cranks are full circle on the flywheel flange, so the only real issue is the rear oil slinger on a 2pc crank going into a 1pc block. Then you have to grind it or turn it off.
