Ok..I need some advice...
I had an MSD 6AL on my car for 3 years...worked fine and then one day it craps out...ok...no biggie...I have an MSD 6A to put on...well it just took a crap too after being on the car for like 2 months...
And the car hasn't been driven more than 10 miles...since the MSD 6A was put on...WTF?!
Should I just get them fixed and put the MSD 6AL back on??? Or try something else?? Is the Digital 6 any better???
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

You can send the both back to MSD for a diagnostics check and refurb, and its far less than paying the hundreds of dollars for the Digital 6, dont get me wrong I like the Digital 6 with the little LED for volt checking and all of the proccesing The Digi6 can do,is far more superior than that of the two, but I also like staying simple with my 6AL. If you do your homework on the digi6 unit there will be no doubt that you would buy it you should see the stuff that it does, it will blow your mind as opposed to a 6A or a 6AL, it would make the rev limiter on a 6AL look like an antique option. But whatever you decide, let us know. I am interested in seeing it in action.

Ryan,
Yeah...I am going to send them off...I actually run the MSD 6AL with their timing computer to retard the timing when I run the gas...
I may sell the two when I get it back from MSD and get the Digital 6...that thing looks bad ass!
I'll keep you guys updated!
See ya,
Paul

actually the digital 6 is a excellent piece as it has more power than the old 7al2 ,I really looked into it before I bought it and compared the dig 6 to the 7al2 and I called Msd to verify that in fact it was more powerful and they said that yes it was a stronger box.The 7al2 was the ignition to have for a long time in racing .
To compare the 2 quickly:
Digital 6 - spark energy - 135 mj
7al2 - 105-115 mj
digital 6 - primary output - 535 volts
7al2 - - 480 volts
the mj's are really what counts ,so as you can see the dig 6 is actually a good igition and more than good enough to go well into the 8's.For the budget minded racer it's the one to go with .Make sure you also go w/ the HVC coil wwhen useing a dig. 6:D

digital 6 is a good box if you have the gas on your car, due to the retard function and the two step function, i used it on my car with the gas , never had any problems with it ,there well worth the money, the 6a is junk i went thru 4 on my daily driver, i ended up putting my digital 6 on my driver and putting a programable digital 7 on my racer, no complaints on either
