Carb'd 5.4 on Nitrous

Is anyone getting any respectable numbers out of this combination? What does it take to get low 9's high 8's? Thinking of going this route in a 2900 lb fox but want to know if it will be worth the trouble. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Scott T.

Re: Carb'd 5.4 on Nitrous

There is a guy from Memphis running a bone stock Navi motor on 150 shot. I have seen it go high 10's on dr's. Modular depot would be a better place to ask this question. I thought your car was lighter than 2900lbs.

Re: Carb'd 5.4 on Nitrous

I spec'd some cams for a full weight car/322 bb/stroker that went 10.79 n/a and 9.88 n2o but it was injected with a Sullivan. A carb will make a little more power. Cam selection will make or break a sullivan intaked motor. In fact, I think the cams in the 322 are available.

Re: Carb'd 5.4 on Nitrous

I went 9.20 @151 but I'm crazy! If the car had a stick and a carb on it I think it would have gone 8.60's

Re: Carb'd 5.4 on Nitrous

We have a bone stock 4.6 out of a mark 8. It has a voretch S-trim that makes 13lbs of boost and a feelpro unit. Custom made headers. The car was gone 10.23. It will go in the high 9. Once we change the converter. Right know its to tight. Car doesn't 60 foot for crap.. O and its in a fox body also.. Thanks Rick

Re: Carb'd 5.4 on Nitrous

OK, I was just a bout to ask the same question....
I have recently came across a built 4.6 longblock out of a 99 cobra.
Stock Steel crank
H-Beams
Cp pistons
Stock heads, cleaned and new valve job
studded mains
studded head bolts

The motor is almost complete other then the intake..
The plan is to put itt in my Bonestock 93 coupe.

What kinda times and what ways should i look on goin with it..
Car has
UPR tubular front
UPR solid tubular rears
UPR anit rollbar
31sp axles
31sp FRPP diff

But it looks stock!

Re: Carb'd 5.4 on Nitrous

If your not running a power adder, and the compression is somewhere in the same area as a Mach1's, You should go high 12's all day long. My Mach1 stock with factory sized nittos ran 12.80. I weighed 3600 and your fox should be about 300 less so theres 3 more tenths for ya. Hell mid 12's more than likely. What trans?

They are low compression motors if it is still the stock short block so a nitrous shot that large will not wake it up quite as much as you think. It is big but on a 8.5:1 MOTOR YOU WILL SEE LESS.
