2016 NMRA Rules

2016 NMRA Rules

We would like to announce that the 2016 NMRA Rules are posted. The NMRA Tech Committee would like to thank all of our racers for participating and working with our staff through the Preliminary rules process. We received several hundred emails and spent three days (and some nights) at PRI Show talking with participants and manufacturers about the 2016 season.

The rules for all NMRA classes can be found at http://nmradigital.com/rules_purses/.

SPORTSMAN CATEGORIES

After many discussions over the past month, competitors in the Index categories (Super Stang, Truck & Lightning, Open Comp, Modular Muscle, the New Foot Brake Class and Bracket categories) will be allowed to enter one NMRA Index class and one Bracket class during each event. Please refer to General Regulations section 3.7.5 for specific instructions and rules.

The new Foot Brake Index class, officially named FORD MUSCLE and those final rules are posted.

HEADS-UP NOTES

The NMRA staff is working with Ford Performance regarding the new 2015-Newer Coyote 5.0L engine that comes in the S550-based Mustang. Ford Motor Company is phasing out the first generation Coyote 5.0L engine, leaving the Coyote Stock class with a situation where the supply could run out sooner rather than later. It is a challenging situation when trying to weigh all of the options.

Thank you for your interest in NMRA drag racing and your continued support. We would like to wish you and your family Happy Holidays and we look forward to seeing you in Florida for the 22nd Annual Nitto Tire Spring Break Shootout at Bradenton Motorsports Park, March 3-6, 2016.

Sincerely,

Rollie Miller
Event Director

Dave Werremeyer
Director of Technical Operations
