Today's auto manufacturers seem to be in a race of one-upsmanship as they cram more and more gears into their automatic transmissions. Six-speed automatics are commonplace these days, and seven-, eight -, nine- speed transmissions are the latest and greatest, with a very-recently announced ten-speed automatic on the horizon for the coming model-year vehicles. So it seems odd, that with all this technology abounding, that a transmission design which is over 65 years-old, is a viable option for today's breed of modern, quadruple-digit- horsepower Coyote Mustangs. However, Justin Jordan Turbo Coyote Shootout frontrunner and owner of Jordan Performance and Racing has shown us what is possible, on several fronts. A nearly lifelong car enthusiast, Jordan's addiction started before he was old enough to drive. I went for a ride in my youth pastor's Corvette when I was 14, and I was hooked, he recalled. After a stint in the Armed Forces, Jordan returned to cars, working in a shop in New Mexico. From there, he got his Bachelor's Degree in Finance and got a job as a tax accountant, but he never stopped wrenching. I've always wrenched on the side for extra money and worked on my own cars, I just really enjoyed it, said Jordan. I recently gave up my full time job at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a tax accountant after five-and-a-half years, to open my own shop.
