Atlanta Dragway Completes Repaving Project Ahead of NMRA/NMCA All Star Nationals

Posted By: Mary Lendzion
Adding to the escalating excitement and energy of the 9th Annual NMRA/NMCA All Star Nationals presented by Steeda Autosports, April 6-9 at Atlanta Dragway, is the revelation of the recent repaving of a portion of the track surface at the facility nicknamed Georgia's House of Speed. According to Mike Savage, the track's manager of operations, crews spent a day in February grounding up and removing existing asphalt from the eighth-mile to the quarter-mile, and spent the following day replacing it with fresh asphalt. This is just part of our regular renovations to the track, said Savage. We ran for the first time on the new asphalt last weekend, and we received very good feedback about it. Now, we're looking forward to having the NMRA and NMCA here in a few weeks. The track will be a hotbed of activity this year, as in addition to the 9th Annual NMRA/NMCA All Star Nationals, it will host various events, including the NHRA Southern Nationals, May 5-7. Atlanta Dragway's Mike Savage continues to make improvements to the facility and we appreciate his team very much, said Rollie Miller, General Manager and National Event Director for ProMedia, which includes NMRA, NMCA and NMCA WEST. We are excited as we enter our 9th year with the NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals presented by Steeda Autosports. The fan-favorite event, which is the second race on the 2017 NMRA and NMCA tour, will feature a live feed by www.SpeedVideo.com. For information, visit www.NMRAdigital.com or www.NMCAdigital.com.
