Joining those two classes is a separate class for NMRA Factory Stock racers that is equally as fierce in competition. Eleven cars qualified for the crate engine clash with Keith Vaughn being the sole representative for the Chevrolet Performance Stock ranks with his DR525-powered C4 Corvette. After the two qualifying rounds were completed, Charlie Booze Jr. claimed the top spot with a 9.86 at 136.28mph run, with Vaughn right behind him in the second spot with a 9.92 at 130.84. After four rounds of eliminations, Booze Jr. was the victor over Tim Matherly, 9.81 to 9.97. The Factory Stock category saw five cars qualify for competition, with the Laris Motorsports Insurance entry of Mark Anderson topping the sheet with a 10.36 at 123.72. While the majority of the field is comprised of NMCA Factory Stock regulars, the event did see the first competition entry by Damien Stephens, whose brother Chad was competing in the Coyote Stock class. After three rounds of eliminations, it was Anderson who was victorious over Chris Niebaur in a 10.23-to-10.36 battle. Jacob Lamb's 4th Annual Factory Hot Rod Race always seems to be a popular event, and this year, it boasted over $9,000 in cash and merchandise in prizes with many racers (Some not even competing at the race) putting in their own money.
