Circle D Specialties Steps Up As NMRA True Street Sponsor

Santa Ana, California [February 13, 2023] — A torque converter is one of the most complex and crucial parts of a performance transmission. Without the proper converter setup, a performance vehicle will never achieve its full potential. Likewise, the Holley NMRA Ford Nationals’ True Street class is one of the most challenging categories in all of drag racing. Fittingly, beginning with the 2023 season, Circle D Specialties is supporting this crowd-pleasing class as its sponsor.

“Circle D Specialties is excited to sponsor NMRA’s wildly popular True Street class first and foremost because supporting this program allows us to help keep motorsports thriving while also providing a unique opportunity to give back to the racing community that has given so much to us,” Pete Nichols of Circle D Specialties explained. “Further, the diversity of True Street and the wide range of racer demographics in this class is an excellent overall fit for Circle D Specialties with regard to our branding and market presence, as well as the range of products we produce. “

Competitors in this class must endure a 30-mile cruise and three back-to-back passes down the drag strip in a test of endurance and consistency. When all the results are tabulated, the racers running closest to the elapsed time categories running from 15 to 8 seconds win those classes. The eight quickest manual-transmission cars move onto the Stick Shift Shootout on Sunday, while the quickest 16 cars at the season opener move onto the BBK Performance Spring Break Shootout.

“Circle D Specialties knows what it takes to maximize transmissions on the street and the track, so the company is a perfect fit to sponsor this class,” Steve Wolcott, President and CEO of NMRA, said. “True Street is one of NMRA’s most popular categories, so we are thrilled to have them supporting this long-running class.”

Circle D Specialties True Street will run the full Holley NMRA Ford Nationals schedule, beginning in Orlando at the 29th Annual Spring Break Shootout from March 2-5, 2023, NMRA will join forces with NMCA for the 15th Annual NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals at Rockingham Dragway for the second time from April 13-16. The dual event theme continues as both series will run together for the 18th time at the NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing in Madison, Illinois, from May 4-7. From June 8-11, the storied 3rd Annual Mickey Thompson NMRA Ford Homecoming returns to Norwalk, Ohio. Then the two series combine again in Martin, Michigan, at the 3rd Annual NMRA/NMCA Power Festival from July 20-23. Finally, the season wraps up with the Ford event of the year, as the 24th Annual NMRA World Finals + Holley Ford Fest heads to Bowling Green, Kentucky from September 28 through October 1.

“Circle D Specialties can help racers in this class and other enthusiasts reach their performance goals through cutting-edge torque converter technology that is paving the way into whole new levels of performance potential in applications ranging from hardcore heads-up drag racing all the way to daily drivers with basic modifications,” Nichols added. “ We utilize Computational Fluid Dynamics software to plot actual torque converter fluid dynamics and function, which gives us a competitive edge in creating all-new, truly unique, highly performing torque converter assemblies that offer features the consumer simply can’t get elsewhere. Combining our CFD analysis with performance data interpretation from customers allows us to fine-tune the torque converter to the most precise degree possible ensuring that our customers are getting the most they can out of their converter investment.“
