Just one week after the season-opening NMRA Spring Break Shootout in Orlando, the NHRA kicked off its season just a couple hours north at 54th Annual Gatornationals. The Gators, held at Gainesville Raceway, is a staple on the NHRA tour. The historical event normally marks the third stop after Pomona and Phoenix, but for 2023, NHRA got its season going in Florida.

Fans piled into the facility, packing the grandstands and enjoying four days of fantastic weather along with the mighty horsepower developed by gasoline, methanol and nitromethane-burning hot rods. Amongst the hundreds of race cars were many Blue Oval machines ranging from the 10.90 Index class of Super Street, to Stock, Super Stock, Pro Mod, Pro Stock and into the Funny Car ranks.

Our staff was on hand to capture the action including burnouts, wheelies, and flames being tossed from the Fuel Couple header pipes. So have a look at our gallery and enjoy the fab Fords in action at the Gators.
