From Ambassador to Racer Dasan Holloway Readies for NMRA World Finals Debut

Dasan HollowayThree times a year NMRA throws a turbocharged party for S197 and S550 Mustangs that runs under the Turbo Coyote Shootout moniker. The third Turbo Coyote Shootout of 2016 is going down during the Nitto Tire NMRA All-Ford World Finals September 29th through October 2nd at Beech Bend Raceway (Bowling Green, KY) and it is sure to be the biggest race of the year. Henchmen Racing has jumped on as the class sponsor for the season-ending event, which is always fast paced thanks to favorable track and weather conditions. The NMRA drag racing world is made up of many different components and the Turbo Coyote Shootout gives many racers a place to fit in since many of them aren't quite legal for one of the regular NMRA heads-up categories. The concept was born a few years ago as Dasan Holloway of Revolution Auto was instrumental in making it a reality. After running in the class of his design, Holloway stepped back this season to upgrade his 2014 Mustang GT and devote more time to building the Turbo Coyote Shootout bigger and better. The time has come, however, for him to become racer again and leave the ambassador chores behind. A reinvigorated turbocharged Coyote rests under the hood as Holloway is looking to go deep into the 7s when he dials-up the boost. He already holds a time slip that reads 7.90s but that is hardly satisfactory to him as there are several hundred more horsepower waiting to be unleashed. Under the hood is a Modular Performance Solutions MPS2000 long-block, which now displaces 5.2L. He topped the potent setup with a sheetmetal intake designed for big boost that comes from a CPR single turbo kit. The system features a massive large-frame 88mm turbocharger. Adam Browne of Revolution Auto is responsible for tuning the AEM Infinity stand-alone EFI system. Helping transfer the power to the Mickey Thompson ET Radial Pro 275 tires is the job of a Powerglide two-speed transmission and a fortified 9-inch rear-end housing. The hook is courtesy of a complete BMR Suspension setup fore and aft with Menscer shocks and struts. The street car produces over 1,400 rwhp at over 25 psi of boost and has already run 7.90s on a "low boost" setting what will Holloway go when he turns it up
