Do you have a turbocharged Ford that just doesn't quite fit into any of the NMRA categories If so, we have a place for you and your vehicle in the Turbo Battle, sponsored by Hellion Turbo and hosted during the Nitto Tire NMRA Spring Break Shootout happening at Bradenton Motorsports Park February 27-March 1, 2020. It is a category designed to be a catchall, heads-up eliminator where the major requirement is a single or twin turbo setup. No more whining from other power adder enthusiasts because turbocharged boost rules the quarter-mile in this class.
The category is very simple, bring a Ford vehicle that is powered by a small-block, Modular, or Coyote engine and make sure it uses one, two, or more turbochargers for boost. The car must feature frame rails from the front-to-back, but can utilize any rear suspension and the front must be stock type that is typically found in most small-tire categories. The winner in the heads-up category walks away with $500 + an AEM CD-7 digital dash worth over $1,000, and NMRA Contingency prizes that can make a victory quite lucrative.
We launched Turbo Battle last year and the fields saw some interesting combinations and everyone had fun, so we are bringing it back to the Spring Break Shootout and also for the NMRA World Finals + Holley Ford Fest, said Rollie Miller, National Event Director and General Manager of NMRA Ford Nationals.
If an enthusiast wants to run a turbo 2015 Mustang and go for a personal best, bring it on down. Or if a car was built for fun and doesn't fit into a heads-up class with its twin turbo combination, then there is a place for that person to participate at our events.
