NMRA Tech Announces New Coyote Stock Tune for 2022 with 2-Step Rev-Limiter

Posted By: Mike Galimi
The NMRA Tech department will issue a new tune for 2022, which includes an integrated 2-step rev-limiter that was designed by Ford Performance. The calibration will be available to competitors on Sunday, October 3, 2021 as they exit competition during the Whipple Superchargers NMRA World Finals Presented by Competition Clutch + Holley Intergalactic Ford Festival. “Thanks to David Born and the engineering team at Ford Performance for continually working on making Coyote Stock better for the racers. We say it often; one of the key components to Coyote Stock’s success is due to Ford Performance’s heavy involvement and its strong relationship with the NMRA Tech group,” said Rollie Miller, National Event Director and General Manager at the Holley NMRA Ford Nationals. The integrated two-step controller is configured using the Ford Performance ProCal 4 (M-12655-F) device, allowing racers to set the low-side rpm limit in 1 rpm increments. The new software contains the rev-limiter in the Diagnostics & Tools segment that is found on the main menu. Once in the Diagnostics & Tools section, hold the Tire/Gear Adjustment function until the screen switches to a “Programming” page that shows the device reading the 2-step. The ProCal 4 will then allow the user to set the low-side rpm limit, which is actuated through the clutch switch. The new calibration is not legal for 2021 NMRA competition and racers can only access the update once they are eliminated from the field during the World Finals. The NMRA Tech Department will be handling the ProCal 4 updates on-site, Ford Performance is capable of updating devices off-site through the regular process, and any questions can be submitted to [email protected]
