Ponies In The Smokies 2023

Street, Track, or Show, it is all good at Ponies in the Smokies. And the 2023 Mustang gathering in the mountains of Tennessee was one for the books with Ford enthusiasts riding into town for relaxing entertainment and fun.
Each spring brings a stampede of Mustangs into the town of Sevierville, Tennessee—and we’re not talking about wild horses; but all generations of America’s favorite pony—the Ford Mustang.
Ponies in the Smokies is weeklong event, with over 1,000 Mustangs from across the country gathering each year to celebrate their love for the iconic pony car. This was our third year in attendance, as this is a favorite Mustang meetup because it offers so many things. It’s just amazing, as the event offers track events, incredible drives through fantastic roads, but it’s mostly about meeting fellow enthusiasts and friends. Highlights include drag racing, autocross, start/stop challenge, drifting exhibition and more. Beyond that, you can connect with great companies like National Parts Depot (NPD) and see celebrities like Steve Saleen.
The schedule of events at Ponies in the Smokies include a car show, track day events, a swap meet, vendor demonstrations, a “Shine Run” through the mountains and more. In fact, I’ve traveled to events across the country, logging over 275,000 miles behind the wheel of my two Mustangs, and PITS is at the top of my list for must-attend yearly Mustang gatherings.
Whether you enjoy the beautiful scenery of a mountain cruise on the Tail of the Dragon, the car show or track day road course driving, there is something to do for every Mustang owner. The locals are very welcoming and friendly, too, and there’s great cuisine and shopping as well. I highly recommend adding Ponies in the Smokies to your calendar for 2024.
