While we're used to watching NMCA and NMRA VP Racing Fuels Street Outlaw standout Jacky McCarty wheel his Fox body Mustang down track, he's preparing to climb into a 2016 Mustang GT. The car features a 25.2 chrome moly chassis built by his company, McCarty Performance, with help from Mag's Fab Worx and Richard Markem. Power will be provided by a ProLine-built 455ci LS engine built on a billet block and topped with Mast heads and a Thompson intake which is billet on the bottom and sheetmetal on the top. A ProCharger has been chosen to pump up the horsepower a departure for McCarty, who has long relied on turbos and an M&M Transmission-built Turbo 400 will help put the power to the pavement. McCarty and crew will test several converters before choosing the one that best complements the combination in the car, which rolls on a 9-inch floater rear-end, specially-designed Racecraft suspension components paired with Afco shocks and struts massaged by Menscer Motorsports and Mickey Thompson 275 drag radials. MMR carbon fiber doors and an Anderson Composites carbon fiber front end and fenders adorn the otherwise steel car, and Josh Lindsey is ready to use FuelTech to lay the tune for McCarty, who will pilot the new car in NMCA VP Racing Fuels Street Outlaw, where he's the reigning champion, and his black Fox body Mustang motivated by a 400ci Ford engine fronted by a 98m Garrett turbo in NMRA VP Racing Fuels Street Outlaw. We're definitely new to the blower world, but we know that ProCharger offers outstanding support, so we decided to try it, said McCarty. I feel great about this. I have a lot of faith in my team, and I'm looking forward to it. While McCarty and his crew are in the process of installing carbon fiber floor boards and wrapping up additional interior work, he hopes to begin testing soon, and has his sights set on the 16th Annual Honeywell Garrett NMCA All-American Nationals, Aug. 24-27 at Summit Motorsports Park in Ohio or if things take longer to come together the 16th Annual SCPC Race Shop NMCA World Street Finals, Sept. 21-24 at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indiana.
