Sunday Coverage 23rd Annual Nitto Tire NMRA Spring Break Shootout

After yesterday's wild day of crowds and racing action, it is elimination day for the first race of the six-event series. Last night was capped off with a special ididit Outlaw True Street, which is a special No Time shootout on Saturday night. Mark Duber took the victory with his stunning 2013 Shelby GT500, which packs a twin-turbocharged, 5.8L Modular powerplant. It was a successful return to NMRA competition for Cal Hayward, who's Fox-body Mustang was involved in a bizarre accident last summer. Watson Racing rebuilt the damaged street car and Hayward went on to drop the quickest QA1 True Street single pass of all-time with a 7.52 run during his third hit down the track. He completed the competition with a 7.94 average his quickest average ever was a 7.73 that he ran in 2014 during the NMRA World Finals. http://www.nmradigital.com/qa1-true-street-results/ Yesterday's activities included some exhibition runs and a match-race against Bobby Ducote and his "Lil Legend" Mustang.
