Talking Vortech Superchargers with Terry Reeves of Team Beefcake Racing

Posted By: Steve Baur
From the time when the Fox-body 5.0-liter Mustang phenomenon took off in the late 80s until today, Vortech Superchargers have been one of the most sought after bolt-ons for Mustang enthusiasts. Being able to bolt on 50-100 percent more horsepower propelled Mustangs into performance realms unknown, and the whirring noise from under the hood was a badge of honor for owners and a warning to all others that their Mustang was nothing to be messed with. Terry Reeves of Team Beefcake Racing got his first taste of supercharger boost when he bolted a Vortech blower onto his 1999 Mustang Cobra's DOHC 4-Valve Modular engine and he has worked with the company ever since as new models of Mustangs, Mustang powerplants, and Vortech supercharger kits continued to be developed and continued to propel enthusiasts forward. Vortech didn't stop at just Mustangs and grew its business into all areas of late-model machines including trucks, imports, and more. As you'll hear from Reeves, his relationship with Vortech Superchargers has grown, too, and currently, his company Team Beefcake Racing is one of Vortech's largest supercharger dealers. Reeves also discusses the performance that is available for current Mustang owners as he talks about the performance of his own Vortech Supercharged S550 Mustang, which clocks 8-second, quarter-mile elapsed times while being perfectly drivable during the daily commute or the long weekend getaway. Of note, Reeves took home the 10R80 Shootout win at the 2019 NMRA All-Ford World Finals in this very car. Check out the video to see what else he had to say and to see his Mustang in action!
