TorqStorm Superchargers Named Title Sponsor of NMRA True Street

The Holley NMRA Ford Nationals welcomes longtime NMCA sponsor TorqStorm Superchargers to the Ford world as the new sponsor of the True Street category, the largest category in the leading all-Ford motorsport series. The move unifies their sponsorship of the True Street fields in both racing organizations across nine total events.

“The True Street class has been on the Mustang scene for almost 30 years and it’s the longest running class in street-legal drag racing. Not only does True Street have serious history in the Mustang market, it has been the springboard for many great names in the sport and routinely attracts more than 100 entries,” said Rollie Miller, National Event Director and General Manager of the NMRA Ford Nationals. “The TorqStorm Superchargers team is very active on-site, ready to answer questions and support the participants and their customers. They do an outstanding job activating their sponsorship on the ground at the events with a large presence.”

Chris Brooker shared his thoughts on joining the NMRA side of ProMedia Events & Publishing, “We had a great opportunity sponsoring NMCA and it worked out well to getting TorqStorm in front of people that know and understanding superchargers. We have a lot of products for the Ford community and this will be another way to get TorqStorm in front of them.” He continued, “We’re building a Fox Mustang for True Street and we’re looking forward to having it ready to run by the NMRA stop at Summit Motorsports Park so we can join in on the fun, too.”

The True Street category is unique in requiring a 30-mile drive to prove the vehicle’s street worthiness and it is followed by a trio of passes—without the benefit of a substantial cool down and competitors cannot open the hood.  The largest field ever at an NMRA event topped 150 cars and it’s been a mainstay in Mustang drag racing, ushering in a genre of competition that’s replicated at independent events across the country. Competitors are ranked by their average ET, using the three official runs, and broken up into categories for declared winners. There’s an Overall Winner and Overall Runner-Up, followed by the quickest runs in the 9-second, 10-second, 11-second, 12-second, 13-second, 14-second, and 15-second zones.

The NMRA Ford Nationals kicks off its season March 3-6 at Bradenton Motorsports Park for the world-famous Spring Break Shootout. It travels north to the legendary Rockingham Dragway for the Scoggin Dickey Parts Center NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals Presented by MAHLE Motorsport April 21-24. The third event goes down May 12-15 at World Wide Technology Raceway with NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing Presented by HPJ Performance. The fourth stop on tour is the Ford Performance Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park June 9-12. The NMRA series will spend one weekend at US 131 Motorsports Park for the Arrington Performance NMRA/NMCA Power Festival Presented by Force Engineering, happening July 21-24. And finally, the season concludes September 29-October 2 for the one and only Whipple Superchargers NMRA World Finals Presented by Competition Clutch + Holley Intergalactic Ford Festival.
