Video Inside MAHLE Motorsport New Elite Sportsman Drag Racing PowerPak+ Pistons On the Shelf

Posted By: Scott Sparrow
We recently sat down with Trey McFarland of MAHLE Motorsport to discuss their new piston program, the Elite Sportsman Drag Series PowerPak+ series. The program is designed to produce large volumes of popular piston designs so engine builders and distributors can keep them on the shelf for quick service to customers. MAHLE Motorsport has kicked off the Elite Sportsman Drag Series with the popular big-block Chevy application (HERE) and more engine families are coming to marking including pistons for the LS and Ford Modular engines. The Elite Sportsman Drag Series are loaded with custom features like light-weight, externally strutted, true slipper skirt 2618 alloy forgings, dual coatings, lateral gas ports, and advanced pin bore, profile, and ovality geometries. Grooved for a .043-inch, .043-inch, 3.0mm ring set (available to purchase separately), these kits come complete with pistons, wrist pins, and circlips. Beyond the obvious power and strength advantages of their design, the Elite Sportsman Drag Series pistons are manufactured to exacting tolerances and will perform at their optimum performance level over a longer life cycle.
