What’s In My Garage—With Factory Stock Racer Chris Lee

My name is Chris Lee, NMRA Factory Stock racer number 5215, also known TooSlo86 Racing. After getting back into Factory Stock racing with the NMRA this past year and attending three races, my goal for the winter, and into the 2023 race season is to find at a minimum the 2 mph and two-tenths I'm lacking from being mid-pack in the class.

Obviously, I'd love to find enough to run with Mike Bowen or Mark Anderson, but realistically I went from a debut of 10.7s at 125 mph in Norwalk, to a 10.60s at 125 mph in Michigan. Ultimately, I ran a Factory Stock best of 10.54 at 127 in Bowling Green, so if I can stay on pace for this next season that would be great!

How am I attempting to get there? Suspension is one and with support from Sharad on the great product at UPR, I will be tackling my upper and lower torque boxes, along with a 10-pt roll bar conversion. I have also cut 18 pounds from the front tires by swapping out my old street radials to the Hoosier Pro front runners. I also hope to find a few mph with the new PMAS intake from Nick James. At PRI I purchased a DynoJet 224X chassis dyno for my shop, so when I'm not running customer cars I hope to eek out hidden ponies from my own Gen 2.
