NMRA Statement of Action Involving Martin Connelley During the NMRA Ford Performance Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park (July 11-13, 2021) the Tech Department disqualified Martin Connelley's four qualifying runs after the vehicle was too light (including driver) due to an incorrect minimum weight for his combination in the Renegade category. The Tech Department's position in this unfortunate situation was a misunderstanding between Martin and tech officials regarding various weight deductions for the Renegade category. Under no circumstances and without any doubt, Martin Connelley was not attempting to circumvent or manipulate the rules to his advantage. It was a rare set of circumstances that led to the discrepancy.
