One must-have is the new Eaton Detroit Truetrac Differential. Eaton’s Mobility Group is expanding its aftermarket Detroit Truetrac® differential portfolio by adding a pair of new differentials that fit the 8.8-inch front and rear axles of the 2015-2022 Ford F-150.
“Eaton’s aftermarket team continues to listen to feedback from our customers as we add additional products for vehicles operating in North America. We are excited to launch a Truetrac for F-150 trucks with 8.8-inch axles, and expand our performance differential portfolio,” said Jason Denardo, product manager, Aftermarket, Eaton’s Mobility Group. “This Truetrac will allow F-150 owners to easily improve their truck’s traction and performance.”
The Detroit Truetrac is a helical-gear style, limited-slip differential that maximizes wheel traction and enhances driving characteristics. It’s a common mod with Mustang owners who street drive and race on the weekends. Maintenance-free, it features smooth, automatic operation in forward and reverse.
Truetrac operates as a standard differential under normal driving conditions, allowing for unobtrusive operation. When a wheel encounters a loss of traction or the terrain changes, the helical-shaped gears mesh with increasing force, transferring torque to the high-traction wheel until wheel spin is slowed or completely stopped. When the vehicle exits the low traction situation, the differential seamlessly resumes normal operation.
