It was with grand fashion that the Holley NMRA All Ford Nationals concluded its 25th Anniversary season in Bowling Green, Kentucky with a spectacle like no other in the Blue Oval universe.
The Whipple Superchargers NMRA World Finals + Holley Intergalactic Ford Festival incorporated a bevy of motorsports from autocross to off road, from Drifting to drag racing and that was just the start. The event, held recently at Beech Bend Raceway Park, also hosted a 650-plus vehicle car show, burnout contest, manufacturer’s midway, swap meet and so much more. Being the World Finals, it was also the race where the 2023 NMRA champions were crowned.
NMRA events offer a wide range of exciting and challenging drag racing classes, from Circle D Specialties True Street to the wild ranks of Suncoast 8.60 Street Race, Coyote Stock and VP Racing Lubricants Renegade. In fact, an all-new NMRA class, 10.10 Street Bandit, made its debut and the racers got down to business. Street Bandit will be a championship class in 2024!
“The racing action was intense, as many championships came down to the late rounds of competition,” said Steve Wolcott, co-Founder of NMRA. “From the thriving True Street class to the red-hot 8.60 Street Race category, blazing-fast street machines are among the hottest race cars in our series,”. “With that in mind, we offered a fresh class, open to the large group of racers with 9- and 10-second race cars that aren’t built specifically for an existing category. That class is Street Bandit 10.10, which was presented by Whatever It Takes Transmission Parts,” Wolcott added.
The World Finals is consistently one of the best stops on the NMRA tour and we’ll be back in 2024 September 26-29. And for the first time, the NMCA series will make a stop in Bowling Green, May 30-June 2 for Muscle Car Mayhem.
