2023 NMRA Championship Categories & Specialty Classes

As we wind down the 2022 season we celebrate the champions and Top 10 finishers. The Holley NMRA Ford Nationals series is gearing up for 2023 with a wide range of race and show classes for all levels of participation. Listed below are the Championship drag racing categories that will be contested in 2023 at all Six NMRA national events.

  • Factory Stock
  • 8.60 Street
  • Open Comp
  • Truck & Lightning
  • Super Stang
  • Modular Muscle
  • Ford Muscle
 
All competitors are invited to share additional Preliminary Rule requests with the Tech department through October 23, 2022 via email at [email protected]
The Specialty Classes for the 2023 season include at this time:

·      True Street – Will run at all 6 NMRA National events.
·      Spring Break Shootout - will be contested again at the Orlando, FL event.
·      Stick Shift Shootout - will be run at three events including – Orlando, FL; Norwalk, OH and Bowling Green, KY. 
·      All Female Shootout - will be run at three events including – Orlando, FL; Norwalk, OH and Bowling Green, KY. 
·      King of the Street Shootout - will be contested again at Bowling Green, KY. 
·      Sealed Stock All-Star Shootout (Coyote Stock vs Chevrolet Performance Stock) will be at the St. Louis, IL event. 
·      Bracket Open - will be run at the Rockingham, NC; St. Louis, IL; Martin, MI and Bowling Green, KY events. 
·      Brackets - Fast Ford (Super Pro), Quick Ford (Pro) and Street Ford (Sportsman) will be run at the Orlando, FL and Norwalk, OH events. 
·      Capri Swarm will be run at the Bowling Green, KY event.

NMRA, the largest all-Ford motorsport event series, kicks off its season March 2-5, 2023 at Orlando Speed World with the Spring Break Shootout. The second tour stop is Rockingham Dragway for the NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals April 13-16. The prestigious World Wide Technology Raceway, just outside of St. Louis, is the home of the NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing extravaganza. It goes down in May 4-7.

A month later the traveling Ford motorsport show makes a return to the world-class Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio with the Ford Performance Nationals, June 8-11. Then it’s back to US 131 Motorsports Park for the NMRA/NMCA Power Festival July 20-23, followed by a break leading up to the biggest and the most over-the-top Ford event of the year, the NMRA World Finals + Holley Intergalactic Ford Festival. The annual festival goes down September 28-October 1 with action on the drag strip, tire-shredding madness on the circle track, crazy off-road attractions, plus massive car show, swap meet and manufacturer’s midway.
