NMRA Celebrates 60 Years of Mustang in 2024 With an Exciting Class Lineup

Santa Ana, California — Hot on the heels of celebrating its 25th anniversary, the NMRA Ford Nationals series kicks off its 2024 season in Gainesville, Florida in February. The series will celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang at its three standalone events, but the entire season is packed with an exciting lineup of championship heads-up and index classes as well as several exciting specialty categories throughout the season.

“Last season we celebrated NMRA’s silver anniversary season in grand style, but we aren’t about to slow down now,” Rollie Miller, NMRA General Manager & National Event Director, said. “After a successful launch at last year’s World Finals, we are launching the Street Bandit class as a full championship class in 2024 where it joins our strong lineup of favorites like 8.60 Street Race, Coyote Stock, and Renegade.”

The 2024 NMRA Ford Nationals championship classes include Renegade, Coyote Stock, Factory Stock, 8.60 Street Race, Street Bandit 10.10, Open Comp, Truck & SUV, Super Stang, Modular Muscle, and Ford Muscle.

The NMRA Ford Nationals season kicks off at the historic Gainesville Raceway, Gainesville, Florida, in late February with the storied NMRA Spring Break Shootout, which is one of three standalone events to highlight the Mustang’s birthday. The following month, NMRA racers will join forces with their NMCA counterparts in mid-April at Rockingham Dragway in Rockingham, North Carolina, for the NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals. In early May, NMRA rejoins NMCA for the Race For The Rings. At World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, Madison, Illinois. Returning to Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, in early June, the NMRA Ford Homecoming will also emphasize the Mustang’s milestone. In mid-July, NMRA and NMCA turn up the heat at the NMRA/NMCA Power Festival held at US 131 Motorsports Park, in Martin, Michigan. As is tradition, NMRA closes out its season in Bowling Green, Kentucky, at Beech Bend Raceway with the epic NMRA World Finals + Holley Ford Fest.

In addition to the championship classes run at each race, True Street is contested during every event on the schedule, as are a variety of Bracket categories. They are joined by specialty True-Street categories throughout 2024, including the Spring Break Shootout (Gainesville), All-Female True Street (Gainesville, Norwalk, and Bowling Green), King of the Street (Bowling Green), and the Stick Shift Shootout (Gainesville, Norwalk, and Bowling Green).

Other specialty categories contested during the 2024 season include the S650 Stampede (Gainesville), Cobra Jet Reunion (Norwalk), Godzilla Invasion (Norwalk), and Capri Swarm (Bowling Green).
