Quickest True Street Rides Square Off in Mickey Thompson King of the Street

The fastest Ford street machines around will battle it out during Circle D Specialties True Street, but only an elite 8 of those competitors will earn the right to battle for street car supremacy in Mickey Thompson King of the Street at the NMRA World Finals + Holley Ford Fest from September 28-October 1 at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky

“True Street remains one of our most popular categories, and drafting 8 of the quickest cars to run heads-up in the King of the Street competition takes the excitement up a notch,” said Steve Wolcott, Co-Founder of NMRA. “The finale of our silver anniversary season is a fitting locale for this special class.”

Based on their three-pass True Street average, the top 8 finishers on Saturday receive an invitation to the Mickey Thompson King of The Street Shootout on Sunday. There they will race heads-up on the eighth mile to determine the quickest Ford street car on the property.

Class match-ups are determined randomly by chip draw before each round and if there are an odd number of cars, a bye-run chip will determine who makes a solo run. The winner of King of the Street will take home a $1,000 Mickey Thompson product certificate, while the runner-up will earn a $300 certificate, semifinalists will each earn $150 certificates, and quarterfinalists will each earn $100 product certificates.
