Not only is it NMRA’s silver anniversary, but it is the 30th anniversary of Circle D Specialties True Street. Mike Jovanis took top honors in the class this weekend at the Mickey Thompson NMRA Ford Homecoming with an 8.13 average. The eight quickest cars from the Saturday action graduated to today’s King of the Street Shootout, while the eight quickest manual-trans machines moved on to today’s TREMEC Stick Shift Shootout, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Meanwhile, in the TREMEC All-Female True Street Gabby Lujan earned the win with a 9.28 average.

A host of amazing vehicles produced by Ford’s legendary Special Vehicle Team filled the SVTperformance.com 30th SVT Reunion as part of the Mickey Thompson NMRA Ford Homecoming. Several former SVT team members also made the trip down from Michigan to celebrate, but the headliner was none other than former Special Vehicle Engineering Chief Engineer and Director of SVT, John Coletti, the mastermind behind all these incredible SVT machines. He visited one of his most legendary concept vehicles, the BOSS — a 1995 Mustang Cobra powered by a Boss 429 big-block — on the show field.

Some incredible classic and modern Saleen made the trip to Summit Motorsports Park as part of the 40th Anniversary Saleen Reunion, and Steve Saleen himself was on hand to bestow the deserving show winners with their awards.

There is action all over the property at Summit Motorsports Park this weekend, and on the Anderson Composites Off-Road Alley, it was high-flying. Twice on Saturday the stadium Bigfoot put on a show for fans as it crushed a quartet of Brand X machines.

If you love Foxes as we do, a wide range of beautiful ’79-’93 machines showed out this weekend as part of the Harland Sharp Fox-Body Reunion presented by Foxy Events. From Capris to Mustangs and coupes to hatchbacks, walking through this section was a trip back in time.

During the Edelbrock Group NMRA Founders Reunion at the Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels NMRA Ford Homecoming, President and CEO of NMRA, Steve Wolcott (center), presented NMRA Founders awards to five deserving individuals who were vital to the formation and success of the series, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Congratulations to Michael Galimi, James Lawrence, Rob Kinnan, Dr. Jamie Meyer, and Chris Vopat for receiving this honor.
