Stick & Clutch Games TREMEC Stick Shift Shootout, Presented by McLeod Racing at NMRA World Finals

Posted By: Mike Galimi
The TREMEC Stick-Shift Shootout is back in action during the Nitto Tire NMRA All-Ford World Finals, September 27-30, and they are bringing cash for the FIRST 25 entries that wield a stick-shift in QA1 True Street. You read that right as soon as an NMRA tech official signs off on a tech card of a stick-shift racer, that person will receive a crisp $100 bill, courtesy of TREMEC. For the second time in 2018, the TREMEC Stick-Shift Shootout will be hosting a Quick 8 eliminator. On Saturday, the Top 8 stick-shift racers that complete QA1 True Street will be entered in Sunday's Stick Shift Shootout. Each entry in the shootout will receive a custom TREMEC jacket and award before embarking on a new format for eliminations. As the eight cars get whittled down to two, the winner will walk away with a McLeod Racing RXT Twin-Disc clutch with flywheel (approx. $1,200 value), while the runner-up will receive a $500 McLeod Racing product certificate. The Stick Shift Shootout rules are simple Street-type manual transmissions only and the transmission can include race-oriented modifications such as face-plated or pro-shifted gears. It must be hand operated via a single shift handle. Transmissions with multiple levers or air/electronic/hydraulic actuation are not permitted. The Quick 8 cars will be entered in a special Chicago-style elimination ladder (1 vs. 2, 3 vs. 4, 5 vs. 6, & 7 vs. 8) and their final True Street average will be used to determine a staggered start. There will be NO breakout on the top-end, allowing racers to stay wide-open and not hold back at the finish line. The winner and runner-up take away the McLeod Racing prizes, the top prize is an RXT clutch/flywheel worth approximately $1,200 and the runner-up receives a $500 product certificate.
