NMRA Coyote Stock Rule Announcement

Posted By: Scott Sparrow
From: NMRA Competition Department, General Manager Rollie Miller   The NMRA tech department has implemented the following Coyote Stock tune procedure effective immediately and will be implemented at the NMRA/NMCA Super bowl in Joliet IL.   At each event, every Coyote Stock entry's ECM will be flashed with the NMRA / FORD Coyote Stock Class Competition tune during initial Tech-In. During the event, from the time the Tune/Flash has been installed, if the competitor is found to have a different and/or modified tune (Tune Verification Failure), that run will be disqualified.   Post Run Discovery:
  • If the run is disqualified during qualifying, that run will be forfeited and will not count towards qualifying. The ECM will be swapped out and held for further inspection by NMRA/Ford.

  • If a run is disqualified during a winning performance during eliminations, the other competitor will be declared the winner of the round (pending tune verification) and will advance to the next round. The ECM will be swapped out and held for further inspection by NMRA/Ford.
  Pre-Run Discovery:
  • If a car is found to have a tune verification failure in the staging lanes, that will disqualify that run attempt.
    • Qualifying the competitor will be disqualified and not allowed to make that qualifying attempt. The ECM will be swapped out and held for further inspection by NMRA/Ford.

  • Eliminations the competitor will be disqualified and the other competitor will have a disqualified/broke bye-run. The ECM will be swapped out and held for further inspection by NMRA/Ford.
More than one occurrence of a competitor's tune failing to verify can or would result in additional disciplinary action from the NMRA Competition department, up to but not limited to Suspension from NMRA Competition.
